The Board of Cricket Council in India (BCCI) has announced the schedule for the white ball series of India tour of Australia 2025 on Monday, 31st March. After a 3-1 Test Series loss earlier this year, India were also kocked out of the World Test Championship Finals scheduled in June.
India will tour Australia in the 2nd week of October, and the white ball series will kickstart with the three match ODI series. The 1st ODI will be played on 19th October at Perth. Then the 2nd ODI on 23rd at the Adelaide Oval. The 3rd and final ODI is scheduled to played at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on 25th October.
India will also start their preparation for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, with the 5-match T20I series against Australia starting from 29th October. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the side with Hardik Pandya as his deputy. India went umbeaten in 2024 not losing a single T20I series. Their major wins came against South Africa, Sri Lanka and England.
While the ODI side will be lead by Rohit Sharma who guided India to an unbeaten run in the Champions Trophy 2025. India are expected to play with the same squad as they played in the recent times. Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah will lead the pace attack, while Harshith Rana could be part of the ODI setup after his impressive debut. Yashasvi Jaiswal who was the backup opener, might get a chance down the line.
The home team Australia have some tough choices to make especially with Steven Smith, Marcus Stoinis retiring from ODI’s. While they look to rebuild their squad for the 2027 ODI World Cup, expect some fresh faces to take charge. Pat Cummins will be back as the skipper for this tour and lead the squad.
